INTO A MEADOW is a short non fiction film focused on a single prairie oak meadow in the Cowichan Valley that conservationists are attempting to restore to a pre-contact landscape, then ventures beyond its boundaries to imagine what it might be like to reconnect to what was once a continuous ecosystem. Through the voices of the land's many stewards it speaks to historical legacies and present realities, to collaborative survival in an age of climate mitigation, and more.
INTO A MEADOW was created by friends and collaborators Michele Smith and Zoe Kirk-Gushowaty. We would like to thank all of the crew, collaborators and participants who made this project possible along with support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Kent Harrison Arts Council.
